OVERVIEW
The World’s Most Trusted Ultra-Low-Friction SPC coating system
Used on some of the world’s most prestigious ships, A-LF-Sea is the world’s most advanced and trusted ultra-low-friction coating system. A-LF-Sea is an advanced version of LF-Sea delivering further propulsion benefits.
A-LF-Sea is a biomimetic super-low-friction antifouling that works using a patented water trapping function to lower the hydrodynamic footprint of the hull. Stable and long term antifouling is guaranteed by the use of a self-smoothing copper-silyl-acrylate copolymer.

NOA. Nippon Paint Marine’s unique, self-indicating technology. Ensuring correct paint thickness will be applied.
Since 1998 NOA has been applied to ships to improve application accuracy and performance. Using NOA potentially extends the life of the ship.
Different NOA versions are now available to work on and in different part of the ship according to the anticorrosive needs of that area. Nippon Paint Marine created high performance anti-abrasive epoxy schemes with pigments that have various opacities depending on it thickness. If you can see through it, NOA’s thickness is too low. This remarkably simple concept enables owners and yards to literally see when the coating has been applied to the correct thickness. Applying the correct thickness – especially on edges and corners is fundamental to protection.
Correct thickness – even on edges and corners ; can be seen with NOA even if it can’t be measured conventionally. NOA stands for Nippon Paint Marine Optimized and Advanced Coating System.

2. COATING

- SI (Self Indicating) technology enables a painter to visually judge if the appropriate film thickness (wet/dry) has been achieved during application.
- In other words, NOA system is a film thickness controller which shows the applicator that the correct film thickness has beat achieved.
3. SELF-POLISHING ANTIFOULING
The first TBT-free hydrolyzing self- polishing antifouling in the world,
which contains a special acrylate copolymer developed with our patented technology as the basic resin, and cuprous oxide as the main biocide.
The product has been applied to far over 20,100 ships (As of February 2016). We are challenging constantly to improve the performance more and more.
